PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Athlunkard is an 1890s Victorian terrace in West Melbourne; a grand heritage home in need of an interior renovation. The house had a previous renovation completed by architect, Suzanne Dance which included a steel framed rear conservatory. Our project adds the next layer in the story of the house with a new kitchen and bathrooms.

The fabric of the heritage house and the earlier conservatory are celebrated, while this new renovation opens up the interior with careful and legible new insertions. The steel framing language of the existing conservatory and the colour palette of the existing stained glass has been referenced in the new joinery elements.
