levantine Hill estate

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

For this hospitality interior in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, Molecule’s brief was to co-locate a new cellar door for the acclaimed Levantine Hill wine brand and a signature restaurant for chef Teage Ezard within a new building designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects.

The interior draws inspiration from the surrounding landscape, with a repetitive tectonic form of shifting brass panels and undulating fabric banding in the banquette; to create warmth within the large, industrial volume, our response combines tactile, self-finishing materials including black steel, raw timber and aniline leather with screen-printed linens and teal-coloured panelling. Airy, cubic joinery elements effectively preserve views through the space while defining the tasting and dining zones.

“Throughout the entire process, Molecule remained refreshingly professional, agile, creative and was able to work at a fast pace.  Importantly, Molecule’s design always remained guided by principles of practicality and efficient work flow for what would be a busy restaurant.”
Samantha Jreissati, Managing Director, Levantine Hill Estate
